Vintgar Gorge is a 1.6 km long gorge located near Bled, Slovenia. It features cascading waterfalls, turquoise pools, and high rock walls. Visitors can access it by taking a short bus or car ride from Bled, purchase tickets, and walk along a wooden boardwalk that winds through the gorge. The walk takes approximately 1-2 hours, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
There is an entrance fee and parking fee for visitors.
In the high tourist season online reservation is highly recommended.
Vintgar Gorge is organized as a one-way route, which means that visitors enter at one end and exit at the other. The entrance and exit are clearly marked, and visitors are not allowed to turn back or re-enter the gorge once they have completed the walk. This one-way system is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors and to prevent overcrowding on the narrow boardwalk.
For returning back to the entry spot, we suggest to take way via St. Katerina/Hom which offers very nice views on Lake Bled, Alps and surrounding.
